Zoom Monthly Meetings - Introduction

As you know from the last Newsletter we will be restarting Monthly Meetings Wednesday 20 January,  I wanted to explain how this will work so that everyone has an idea of what to expect.

The first thing to say is that this is a step into the unknown for all of us and while we have attempted to anticipate problems please bear with us if there are any technical hitches.

The meeting will be available to join from 10.00am on Wednesday 20 January and you can do this by clicking on the link which is at the bottom of this email. Anybody who is unfamiliar with Zoom and who would like some help in advance please contact Susan Heyes of our Computer Group who will be happy to help at  susanheyes@aol.com . If you have not used Zoom previously your device may prompt you to take some additional steps which are quite straightforward.

The meeting will be limited to a maximum of 100 people which is all our Zoom account will permit.

We will formally start at 10.15 when we will activate the “mute” button for all of those attending the meeting which will mean that the only people who can be heard will be the intended speaker.

Following a short introduction we will hear from four of our members on experiences which they have particularly enjoyed or found interesting. Each person will be speaking for about ten minutes after which there will be a short opportunity for questions. I will explain how we will do this as part of the introduction.

All of the speakers are members of South Lakes U3A and we are very grateful to them for volunteering, briefly they are
