Try before you buy
If you are interested in joining us but not sure, you can attend two monthly or group meetings before you decide. You can just turn up to a monthly meeting, but please get in touch with us (see the Contact us page) before going along to a group meeting, to check that there is a vacancy.
Benefits of membership
Members may attend any of the monthly meetings, seminars and social events, and may join any number of activity groups, subject to availability of places.
When you join you will be sent a copy of our newsletter which includes a full diary of events and contact details for all group coordinators. The newsletter is issued three times a year to each member household, and U3A News, the magazine of the Third Age Trust is similarly issued four times a year.
Other benefits of membership are a facility for buying various items of computer software at educational prices via the Third Age Trust, and access to a free 24-hour legal advice service.
What does it cost?
There is an annual subscription of £12 with some reduction for special cases as shown on the application form. A small fee, usually 70p, is also charged for each group meeting attended, and there is a charge of £1 (which includes coffee or tea) for attending a monthly meeting.
