We are going to try and start up again at the beginning of September and see how it goes. However,

Family History
Unfortunately members of the Family History Group have not met since February 2020 due to the Covid situation. Individuals have been able to continue with their research as a variety of websites provided free access to certain records for specific periods of time. Some Archive Offices also opened up as did local libraries for a while. Where possible, information is circulated via emails using the Beacon system. There are no plans yet for the group to meet together but this will be reviewed in early 2021 and any dates will be circulated to members and entered on the website.

Italian - Updated 13 November
We had a trial run at Castle St last week but decided that overall the risks of meeting even at 2m distance in an enclosed space for 2 hours without masks were too great and so have reverted to Zoom only meetings for the foreseeable future. In the light of subsequent news re escalation of cases etc it seems we took a sensible decision.

The maximum number of walkers on a ramble is set at 18 at present. On the walk, we divide into
sub-groups with a maximum number of six people in each, and keep a distance of 50 metres
between the other sub-groups. As we are unable to car share so concentrate on offering walks
within a short distance of Kendal where there is plenty of parking. Members must register their
interest in advance, make their own personal risk assessment before going on a walk and by
subscribing to the walk give their agreement to abiding by the safety protocol adopted in line with
Covid-19.

we are currently awaiting clarification from the Third Age Trust secretariat as to whether or not non-
recced walks are compliant with their insurance policy.

Wine Appreciation 1
Due to the very social nature of our group it is not possible to continue for the foreseeable future.
Online/virtual meetings are not suitable. We are reaching out to our members on a regular basis.

Wine Appreciation 2
With the continuing restrictions and the need for social distancing the group will not be meeting
