What we do

Members meet in small groups to enjoy playing Scrabble.

Reports

Group 1 - February 2010
We continue to hold our fortnightly meetings from 1 pm to 3 pm at the United Reform Church Hall, Highgate, which is on the left hand side of the building, at the top of the yard. The first meeting in May is Friday the 14th. We are a small friendly group, not too competitive, willing to help one another if requested. If interested come along and give it a go. You would be very welcome.

Group 1 - November 2009
Our last meeting at the YWCA is on the 11th December, the day when the YWCA closes. Our next meeting will be at The United Reform Church Hall, which is on the left side of the buildings, from Highgate, looking straight ahead to the Church itself. The time is from 1pm to 3pm, slightly earlier than usual. We always welcome new members to our friendly easy going group. Not too competitive. Do come and give us a go!

Group 1 - June 2009
We are continuing to hold our Scrabble every other Friday at the same time and venue. We are always happy to meet new members – we are not too competitive. Why not come and join us.

Group 2 - November 2009
We have fun playing Scrabble and our standard of play is improving.

Group 2 - June 2009
Our small but enthusiastic group continues to play our games with great enjoyment.

Group 3 - November 2009
Our Tuesday afternoon sessions continue to be challenging and enjoyable. We play two games per session with tea and biscuits (the highlight for some) in the break. When words have to be checked in the dictionary, it is an opportunity for everyone to increase their word knowledge. Our sessions are not just fun but educational too.

Group 3 - June 2009
We have enjoyed some quite challenging games recently and a few of us have managed some seven letter words with a 50 point bonus. Between games we always enjoy our cups of tea and chat.

Group 3 - March 2009
Our group has continued to play with enthusiasm and enjoyment. Since Christmas we have been meeting at a new venue. Our group would like to thank Carole Horsley for hosting Scrabble 3 at her house for many years, and we look forward to returning at some time in the future. Our annual group lunch had to be postponed in February due to the snow but we were able to present Margaret Rivett with a small award at our next scrabble meeting for the most overall wins of the year.
