What we do

We had our first meeting on 3 June at the Wakefield Arms, Kendal, with eight members attending. We had a private little alcove and the meal was absolutely superb and we all enjoyed each other’s company.

We had lengthy discussions about the format for future events and it was decided that we have lunch together on the first Saturday of every month. Venues for the summer will be outside Kendal and we will stay in the town for the winter events.

November 2011

Our friendly group has enjoyed some excellent lunches. In September we went to the “Eagle & Child” at Staveley, in October to the Wateredge Inn at Ambleside and in November to the “Water Mill” at Ings.

The lunch at “The Water Mill” was fantastic as was the service. Nothing was too much trouble and the owner made a point of coming to talk to us.

The Luncheon Club is a very popular group. Why don’t you join us? If you would like to lunch in pleasant company please contact the co-ordinator.

We are still having great times meeting up and having lively conversations and enjoying good food. This year we have been to the ‘New Moon’, ‘Charlie’s’ and the next venue is going to be ‘The Kingfisher’. As time goes on we will spread our wings and go further afield.
